Hair Base Salon would like to thank everyone who participated in the Join the Dialogue Survey. While the survey will be open until the end of the month; we received so many thoughtful responses we wanted to take a moment to update survey participants.
We’d also like to state, unequivocally, that we have no intention of discontinuing the Moroccan Oil line of products. The product is excellent! This survey was about the poster NOT the products!
In general, the overwhelming response was that the poster is something often seen in mainstream culture and that it fits a salon. The first question was about impression and purpose and the overall response is that it is a typical image seen everywhere, that it is a classy image with beautiful hair.
However, it was also noted due to the revealing nature of the attire that to some respondents, the woman appeared provocative and that our society often connotes beauty with sexuality. A survey responder commented that beauty is about the inside character as well as the outside “look” of a person. Here at Hair Base Salon our goal is to have everyone leave feeling happy, lovely, refreshed, beautiful, and appreciated. We style to suit the individual and bring out the inner beauty without objectifying. For this reason, we are switching the poster out with another to continue to market the Moroccan Oil products that we sell, as we believe everyone is beautiful in their own way.
